10: Electric clocks - The 10th most dangerous device in your home
With 5 to 10 mG up to three feet away, electric clocks emit very high radiation
What you can do:
If you have a clock in your bedroom, it is advised to place it at least 6 feet form your bed.
08: Lighting - A dangerous product present in each room of your home
The risk comes from the fluorescent lights, energy saving bulbs and halogen lights.
What you can do:
You can reduce the risk to 0 by using ordinary bulbs and non-halogen spotlights.
07: Hair Dryers and Electric Razors

Hair dryers and Electric razors have a very high magnetic field, as much as 200 to 400 mG.
What you can do:
Some EMF consultants recommend that hair dryers not be used on children as the high fields are held close to their rapidly developing brain and nervous system.
06: Plasma screen TVs: Sit away from them

TVs with a plasma screen emit high magnetic and electric fields that reach a 6ft radius around them. However, battery operated remote controls are quite safe.
What you can do:
Always sit at least 6ft from the screen - and remember that EMFs travel through walls. If you have a plasma screen TV in your bedroom, it should be at least 6ft from your pillows.
05: Cookers - A dangerous appliance used everyday

The magnetic fields from a ceramic or glass-topped hob can be lower than those from a traditional electric hob, but some halogen rings can give off particularly high levels.
What you can do:
It is recommended that as well as avoiding halogen rings, you avoid magnetic induction hobs because, although they are very energy efficient and fast to use, they produce significant levels of EMFs. Safest of all are gas cookers, or slow cookers which use very low power.
